Hey Guys,
Last Friday, my husband and I drove to Palm Beach mainly because my sister and her fiancée ***screams*** were in town. We arrived in Palm beach at around 2:30pm and checked into our hotel. From there, we took off to meet Renee and Stefan for lunch at Pizza Al Fresco. This little restaurant was tucked away in the south-west courtyard, close to one of the ends of Worth Ave. The seating we decided on was outdoors and it was absolutely beautiful. Hydrangeas, bougainvilleas, palm trees and chirping birds surrounded us. Sadly, I didn’t get a picture that did this charming pizzeria any justice. We ate our pizzas, explored the courtyards a bit and headed to Piccoio Gelato to partake in some decadent dessert.
Worth Avenue is best described as the Rodeo Drive of Florida. The street is filled with luxury designers and boutiques. Walking this upscale avenue is a good way to spend an evening in Palm Beach. If luxury shopping isn’t your thing, don’t worry because the people and car watching is also very entertaining. At the end of the avenue you have a great view of the beach, which is just so serene. Also, there are art galleries and lots of places to eat, so you can’t possibly get bored at this location.

This week, I went out to take pics for St. Patrick’s Day and, then, it dawned on me………. I really don’t know much about this holiday. I went home and did a little research; so, here are 5 things you (like me) probably didn’t know about St. Patrick’s Day.
1. Saint Patrick was British
It is said that St. Patrick was born in what is now England, Scotland or Wales. Irish raiders enslaved him at the age of 16, took him to Ireland and held him captive for six years.
2. The Shamrocks
Legend has it that St. Patrick used the shamrock to illustrate the doctrine of the holy trinity (The Son, The Father & The Holy Spirit).
3. We should wear blue
Historians say that the color that was mostly associated with St. Patrick is blue. It is a very light blue called “Saint Patrick’s blue”. So, where did the green come from? Honestly, I am not sure. There are several different reasons, such as:
· Green is one of the three colors in the Irish flag.
· Ireland is known as the "Emerald Isle” because of its lush, green landscape.
· Green was also used when supporters of Irish independence used the color to represent their cause.
· Green is the color of the shamrock.
It’s safe to say that, if you don’t wear green, leprechauns might just pinch you. I guess you can pick the explanation you like best.
4. Corned Beef and Cabbage
The traditional meat eaten on St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland turns out to be Irish bacon and not corned beef. Irish immigrants to the United States used corned beef, the cheaper alternative at the time, as a substitute. They learnt about this, as a replacement, from Jewish immigrants.
Side note, I totally plan to cook Jamaican corned beef with cabbage for St. Patrick’s Day.
5. The Chicago River turns green
Every year, since 1962, the city turns the river green by dumping 40 tons of dye into it.

Today I am sharing with you my beauty and lifestyle favorites of last year. I really wanted to have this, and my previous, post uploaded in January but sometimes life just throws us curve balls. Anyways guys! Let’s go ahead and get started.
1. Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis – This was probably my best purchase of 2017. This bag just works for my lifestyle. I love small cross-body bags but they generally never seem to fit enough things. This bag, however, is the perfect hybrid between a small cross-body and a bag big enough to carry everyday essentials. An added bonus is that it goes with almost anything in your wardrobe.
2. Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Hydra-Gel Eye Patches – I don’t think it’s a secret that I have under-eye bags. They are significantly more pronounced on days that I am tired or if I haven’t had enough sleep the night before. I have tried a lot of products to help with diminishing the appearance of my bags but they simply don’t work. At least, with this product, you can see a noticeable difference. It’s not a major difference but it’s a difference that you can see nonetheless.
3. Cetaphil RestoraDerm Eczema Calming Body Moisturizer – This is my Holy Grail product; the product I would need if I were stranded on a desert island. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have heard me say several times how I suffer from persistent dry skin. That’s partially due to the fact that I have eczema and I used to have these really dry patches on my face that just wouldn’t go away. That is, until I found this product. Yes, I know it’s not a facial moisturizer, but I use it as one because this is what works for me. I repurchase this product every single month without fail. I simply cannot live without it.
4. Tory Burch Earrings – This particular pair is from the Outlets and I have them in silver and gold. These are the earrings I wear everyday, if I am going to work, if I am going to the supermarket, if I am running errands. They are great and I love them!
5. Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick Elson - I love a red lipstick! Who doesn’t? For the longest time, my go-to red lipstick was Ruby Woo. Don’t get me wrong, I still love it but it is very drying. I wanted to find something that was still matte, but not as drying to the lips with a smoother application. That’s when I came across Pat McGrath MatteTrance lipstick in the color Elson. I LOVE the formula of this lipstick.
6. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream – I didn’t buy this product at first. It was one of those free gifts you receive from Sephora when you have accumulated enough points. I’ve been using my sample as a hand cream that I carry around in my bag. Mainly because, for some reason, my hands are just always dry. I loved the formula but I still wanted to give other hand creams, that I had heard great things about, a try. Long and short of this story is that after a couple of months of trying several creams, I went back to Sephora and purchased a full size tube of this product and now we are inseparable.
7. Bauble Bar Celene Cutout Bangle Bracelets – I have had these for a while. I bought them in 2016 when I was heading to Cancun. I ended up wearing them a ton in 2017 and, for costume jewelry, they’ve stood up well.
8. Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation – This foundation has provided me with the best color match since I have been buying foundation and, for that reason, it has made this list.
9. Louis Vuitton Lockit Mule Flat Sandals – I bought these as a souvenir of my trip to Spain and I have worn them to death ever since. In my mind “luxury” items are only worth the price tag if you wear/use them all the time. If you are buying it to admire it, it’s a waste of money (my opinion only).
10. Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom – I don’t think you can go wrong with this perfume, regardless of the scent. The original Flowerbomb is, by far, my favorite perfume. In the spring of 2017, however, I was looking for something that was just a little lighter for that period of time. I tried so many perfumes but I wasn’t coming across anything I loved. One day, randomly browsing the internet, I came across an article introducing Flowerbomb Bloom. I set out on a hunting expedition to find it and what an expedition it was! It took me 2 to 3 months to finally track this particular perfume down in-store. I sampled and subsequently fell in love. I’ve been using it ever since.
I hope you have enjoyed today’s blog post. I have a lot of fun posts planned for the next 2 months so I hope you stick around. Talk to you soon.
