End Of The Season

Hey Guys,

I can’t believe the Christmas season has basically come to an end. I am so saddened by this. Maybe it’s because of all the time spent decorating the house just so it could be perfect for my guests’ arrival. But, just like that, the time has come and gone and they are getting ready to leave. I had a full house this Christmas and it’s kinda depressing to know that by Saturday it will be empty and I will be going back to reality. It was really, really fun while it lasted though. I definitely enjoyed every bit of this Christmas holiday.

Anyways guys; today I share with you an outfit I wore last week. This pink sweater was the best sweater I purchased this season. I am so in love with it!

Christmas Décor

Hey Guys,

Decorating for Christmas has always been one of my favorite things to do. I usually start by picking a color scheme, theme and then begin working from there.

This year I really wanted to create a winter wonderland but I think it turned out to be more of a neutral theme than winter-white. I chose to use a lot of white, gold and silver ornaments and some neutral tones (such as cream and beige) to help tie in my existing décor. I picked up most of the items I used from Joann, Michaels and Target.

I will try to link all the things I think you will need to recreate this look in your home below; only if that’s something you are interested in doing, of course. Enjoy the pictures I am sharing of my home today and please let me know in the comments below if you have decorated for Christmas and what color scheme/theme you went with.

Christmas Season

Hey Guys,

I am so excited for the Christmas season. It is, by far, my most favorite time of the year. There is something to be said about all the lights, comfy clothes, home décor and, lets not forget, the hot chocolate. I honestly love it all.

This year I will be hosting Christmas dinner and having family in town. I absolutely cannot wait! Usually, my Christmas holidays are spent with my family and friends in Jamaica. I never get to go all out with Christmas décor for my home but this year is quite different. I have had ideas on top of ideas; from the winter wonderland Christmas tree idea to the DIY hot chocolate station. There hasn’t been a dull moment since the season has started. Please enjoy the outfit I am sharing today.

Diner En Blanc – A Sea of White Wonder

Hey Guys,

Before Diner En Blanc came to Orlando I can remember seeing all the beautiful pictures online with everyone wearing their absolute best all white outfits. When the event was completely set up, it would look like a beautiful sea of white wonder blanketing that year’s chosen location and, just like magic, it would all disappear like it was never there.

I attended Diner En Blanc, this year, with very specific intentions. I wanted to find out 1) what makes this particular event a “must do” year after year and 2) if there was anything patrons came to expect from event promoters that they felt was either missing or not provided. To accomplish this I put together a list of questions, put on my favorite white dress, and headed to the event.

My first question to all of the patrons I met was: ‘how did you hear of the event?’ Typical responses included hearing about the event through friends and friends-of-friends, which was to be expected. Several others learnt about the event through social media marketing and the remainder was mostly made up of members that attended last year. The latter felt that coming back this year was simply a must-do in their eyes.

The next question focused primarily on the location. Leading up to the day of the event, this was a close guarded secret and one of the many aspects that make this an exclusive gathering. The event was held at Lake Eola, which is located in the heart of downtown Orlando. This prime location provides spectacular views of the Orlando skyline. Naturally, I wanted to know what guests thought about the chosen location. To say the least, the location was definitely deemed an overwhelming win! There were only two drawbacks that I could gather related to the time and location this year.
1. Female guests had to constantly contend with their heels sinking into the lawn surrounding the lake.
2. Some guests felt it was a bit too cold, being held in November.
3. And…. with the sun setting early this year, it was almost impossible to get a great photo that did this grand event justice.
Even with these minor annoyances, the guests still felt like the location was magical.

So, finally, we get to the big question: What makes Diner En Blanc the “go-to“ event of the year? As many of the guests I interviewed stated, the Exclusivity, the Mystery, the Location and the Magic of the whole event just make you feel like you are in a movie. That being the case, most guests resoundingly stated they would attend next year.
In summary, my combined take-away from the many conversations I had over the course of the night was that Diner En Blanc is truly an event you have to experience yourself to fully understand. If you attended this year, what are your thoughts? Please share in the comments below.

OOTD | Gucci Ace Sneakers

Hey guys,

I am back today with a casual OOTD. On this day, I ran a few errands and met with my business partner (we run a small Etsy Sticker shop; shameless plug) at Grown in Lake Nona. I decided to style my outfit around my Gucci Ace Sneakers that I picked up in Barcelona as a souvenir. What I wasn’t expecting was for them to be so comfortable!! I wore them for the entire day and there were no blisters, rubbing or any unwanted pressure.

I have mentioned, on this blog before, that I have weird feet and I'm in a constant battle when trying to find new shoes. Having long toes with narrow feet provides a unique set of complications. However, on this shoe, the toe box provided just enough room for my long toes, while the rest of the shoe still fit my narrow feet throughout. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. I do recommend you give these a try; they are as comfortable as they are pretty.

Flying Business Class For The First Time

Hey Guys,

Here is something about me that only my close friends know. I am deathly afraid of flying and I have terrible anxiety even just thinking about it. However, I never want my fears to keep me from living my life so I try to overcome them every time I need to step foot on a plane. With that said, I knew I needed to fly business class when I decided to go to Barcelona for my summer vacation. There was just absolutely no way I was going to feel comfortable in an economy seat for 9 hrs.

I must say, Business Class exceeded my expectations and opened my eyes to the world of luxury on another level. The service and comfort were just simply unbelievable.

(Before I go any further let me apologize in advance for my photos as they were taken with my phone, so the quality is not the greatest. I hope they will provide some insight.)

My Flight

06.09.17 MIA – BCN 06:15pm – 09:15am AA112
Boeing 777-200 | Business

Lounge

Flying business class allows you access to lavish airport lounges. These lounges can differ quite a bit, depending on the city you are flying out of and the airline you are flying on. We had access to the American Airlines Admiral Club Lounge, which was located somewhere along concourse D.
The lounge was nicer than I expected, as it had recently been remodeled. I wasn’t completely blown away, but it was nice to have somewhere a little more comfy to wait until we boarded our flight. We got complimentary wi-fi, two premium drink tickets each (note: bottled water is considered a premium drink) and light snacks such as soup, guacamole & chips and pastries. Food was available for purchase but I opted for Wendy’s instead 😊.

Seats

I sat in seat 4d and my husband sat in 4h directly beside me. The seats reminded me of pods. It was almost like having your own little mini pod to sit and lounge in. The lay-flat seats allowed for absolute comfort on the plane and afforded us the opportunity to get some much-needed sleep. We were also provided bose noise-cancelling headsets and a touch screen remote to control the display. When I arrived at my seat, there were also pillows, a blanket and a Cole Haan amenity kit, which included the following:
· Socks
· Pen
· Sleeping mask
· Headphone Covers
· Ear plugs
· Dental kit (Crest toothpaste & toothbrush)
· C.O. Bigelow Refreshing travel kit (lotion, lip balm & mouthwash)
· Tissues
· C.O. Bigelow 20% off coupon

The seats offered lots of storage so there was plenty of space for my shoes and any other knick-knacks I had with me.

Service and Food

Both the service and the food was Five Star. Once we got seated, we were offered a welcome drink; your choice of champagne, water or juice. I chose champagne of course (while hearing my Mother’s voice in my head saying: “TIAN, don’t drink”). This was followed by a warm towel to cleanse your hands, which was followed by another drink and warmed nuts. Shortly after that, they commenced the dinner service

Small Plate
Quinoa Mango Vegetable Timbale
wasabi mayonnaise, pickled ginger, cilantro

Salad
Super Green Salad
blood oranges, radish, pumpkin seed, popped quinoa

Main Course
Korean Braise Short Ribs
brown basmati rice, kimchi, bulgogi sauce

Dessert
Raspberry Tart
almond cream custard, glazed raspberry, butter crust

I watched two movies, got a few hours of sleep and woke up just in time for breakfast

Breakfast
Traditional American Breakfast
scrambled eggs, canadian bacon, roasted potatoes

Served with warm bread and a beverage of your choice

I arrived in Barcelona feeling refreshed and well rested, not to mention I was full from all the food I ate.

Is it worth it?
This was the best flight I have ever had in my life. So yes! Its worth every penny and I can’t wait to do it again.

Guys, there are tips and tricks that make business class more affordable and in some cases free. If you would like to know how I afforded my business class ticket for half the price of an economy ticket please type yes in the comments below and I will gladly put together a blog post detailing my steps.

Until next time guys, thanks for reading!!
