Food Feature: Marlow's Tavern

Hey Guys!!

I recently had the pleasure of attending a blogger’s tasting at Marlow’s Tavern for their new spring/summer menu. I’d like to share my views on the experience, as this was a real treat to me. Not only do I love food but I’ve never dined at this establishment before. I absolutely love trying new restaurants! Only problem is I tend to be a very picky eater. The event focused around having specific menu items brought out at various times for appetizer, main course and dessert tastings. How would I manage eating items off of a menu I didn’t choose? Lets find out!

Appetizers:

JT's Kettle Chips -
Crispy Potato Chips Crowned with Gorgonzola Cheese, Bacon, Roma Tomato and Scallion
Warm Brie Fondue -
Melting Brie, Swiss, Mascarpone, Chardonnay and Warm Salty Pretzel Bread
Marlow's Famous Hummus -
Grilled, Toasty Pita Points, Crisp, Fresh Veggies, Pickled Okra, Olive Oil and Spiced Pumpkin and Sunflower Seeds
Fresh Burrata Mozzarella -
Fresh Belgioioso Burrata, Roast Tomato & Eggplant Caponata, Toasty Ciabatta and Parslied Olive Oil
My Thoughts (appetizers) – Out of the four appetizers that we tried my favorite, by far, was JT’s Kettle chips. They excited my tastes buds and, besides, who doesn’t love bacon?! Even though the Kettle chips were my personal favorite, the other three were just as good. To be honest you couldn’t go wrong with any of the four menu options I mentioned in this post.

Entrees:

Banh Mi Chicken Wrap -
Soy Glazed Chicken, Grilled or Fried, Napa Cabbage, Pickled Veggies, Fresh Cilantro, Firecracker Sauce in Grilled Tortilla
Chopped Chicken Salad -
Grilled Prestige Farms Chicken, Romaine, Summer Squash, Garbanzo, California Olives, Cheese Blend, Shiitake, Apple-Wood Bacon, Chopped Egg, Avocado Basil Vinaigrette and Parmesan Croutons
Crisp Chicken Milanese -
Panko Crusted Chicken, Baby Arugula, Italian Parsley, Shaved Asiago, Roma Tomato, Lemonette, Fresh Lemon and Pine Nuts
Pan Seared Crusted Barramundi -
Scallion Crusted, Quinoa “Fried Rice” with Edamame, Baby Carrots, Napa Cabbage, Ginger, Scallion and Sesame Soy Glaze
My Thoughts (entrees):

Banh Mi Chicken Wrap - This was the meal that made me realize I don’t like fresh cilantro. After removing the cilantro, however, I did enjoy the wrap.

Chopped Chicken Salad - The salad was good except for the olives in my opinion, which I did end up removing. Like I said, I am a picky eater.

Crisp Chicken Milanese – Excellent, this was my second favorite entrĂ©e.

Pan Seared Crusted Barramundi – Loved it!!! After this meal I have tried several times to recreate Quinoa “Fried Rice” at home and I am still waaaay off. I highly recommend you give this meal a try if you are a fan of fish.

Dessert:

MT House-made Cheesecake -
New York Style Cheesecake, Peanut Butter, Milk Chocolate, Pretzel Crust with Salted Caramel

My thoughts (dessert) – The cheesecake was absolutely heavenly.

Drinks:

Watermelon Aqua Fresca -
St. George Green Chili Vodka, Fresh Watermelon, Fresh Lime and Splash of Soda
Blueberry Buck -
Reinventing a Tavern favorite...Smirnoff Blueberry Vodka, Fresh Lime, Simple Syrup, Barritt’s Ginger Beer and Shaved Nutmeg

My thoughts (drinks):

Watermelon Aqua Fresca- I can’t recommend this drink at all. I took two sips and I was done. Till this day I regretted ordering this drink. If you don’t like watermelon or you are a fan of sweet drinks, this drink is definitely not for you.

Blueberry Buck – I really enjoyed this drink! I wish I had ordered it again instead of the watermelon drink.

Overall Review

The food at Marlow’s Tavern was awesome! I left there completely pleased and satisfied knowing that I would revisit soon.
